Welcome to Bennettsville Primary School (BPS) website. The Primary School serves children in pre-k through second grade in the Marlboro County School District.The school provides 27 classrooms to accommodate our developmentally delayed, pre-k, kindergarten, first and second grade students. Additional features include a media center, computer lab, music room, art room, physical education room, and outdoor science lab and commons area for each grade level to be used for breakfast, lunch and assemblies.
Students can benefit greatly from the experienced, knowledgeable, and caring staff who work cooperatively to create an atmosphere that is warm and inviting to everyone that enters our doors. In addition to the rich academic program by the regular classroom teachers, students benefit from the offerings of the professional support staff that provide instruction in music, art, and physical education. Other staff includes a speech therapist, nurse, parenting coordinator, instructional assistants, media center specialist well as teachers for our special needs students.
At BPS the education of each child is enhanced through the major contributions of parents, teachers, volunteers, and community members working together. Volunteers are encouraged and welcomed in our school on a regular bases, offering additional assistance and guidance to our students so that they may achieve higher success and have a balanced educational program.

Parents' and Guardians' RightsNotification
Parents and guardians in the Marlboro County School Districthave the right to learn about the following qualifications of their child's teacher: state licensure requirements for the grade level and content areastaught, the current licensing status of your child's teacher, and baccalaureate/graduate certification/degree.
You may also request the qualifications of an instructional paraprofessional who serves your student in a Title I program or if your school operates a school-wide Title I program. Parents or guardians may request this information from the Federal Programs Office by calling 843.479.3707 or by sending a letter of request in care of Federal Programs, 100 Matheson Street, Bennettsville, South Carolina, 29512.
Marlboro County School District ensures that parents or guardians will be notified in writing if their child has been assigned, or has been taught by a teacher for four or more consecutive weeks who is not considered highly qualified.
